57% of New Yorkers don’t think NY needs the country’s largest convention center at the Aqueduct racetrack in Queens. Because Jacob Javits is, you know, small potatoes:
Voters remain highly contented with Mr. Cuomo’s job performance, the poll, conducted by Siena College, found. But their disdain for his convention center proposal — 38 percent supported it, and 57 percent opposed it — represents the first time since he took office that one of his major proposals has landed with a thud
Hey, I know, lets fire some teachers, privatize the post office, drive the middle-class to Newark, cut taxes for billionaires & issue $3 trillion in bonds to build a new football stadium & a newer Jacob Javits. It’ll be awesome.
And, also, let’s cut public transit services so the worker class, sorry, Rick Santorum, worker income (‘cause there’s no class anymore) making blahs (easy, there) will be forced to pay $18 toll to get to work in the giant convention center.
